SMS-TV growing in popularity in Europe

Participating with television shows via premium SMS is the latest trick with SMS in Europe. It still amazes me how SMS permiated everyday life there. The closest US equivalent would probably be 900 numbers. With rapid SMS adoption in the US, how long till we text message in our votes for American Idol?
