More Network Solutions Stupidity

from the absolute-control dept

If you hadn’t realized the ridiculous amount of control Network Solutions holds over the internet, here’s a reminder. A lawyer in San Jose discovered a week and a half ago that Network Solutions had (for no reason) transferred her domain to someone else. They later admitted that it was due to an employee mistake. However, it took many days of struggling to find who to talk to at VeriSign (who owns NetSol) and they were slow to respond and do anything to correct things. There simply is no recourse should Network Solutions decide to screw you over. The only way this lawyer got stuff done was by threatening to file a lawsuit. I hope she still does file a lawsuit for all the lost business and frustration they put her through. It’s absolutely amazing that a company like VeriSign still can’t get its act together in managing the dot com domain registration database.
