Islanders Vote Against Mobile Phones
With all the stories of places banning the use of cell phones in public places or while driving, a small Australian island has decided not to have any mobile phone service at all. They took a referendum of residents of the island, with 607 saying no mobile service needed, vs. 161 who would like to chat. By the way, this island also allows no gambling, prostitution, fast-food outlets, or income tax.
