Wireless Week Editor In Chief, Bill Menezes, suggests that despite 3G carrier troubles in Europe 3G is not dead, just the 3G hype (maybe for the moment). Telefonica and Sonera’s departure from the German market is prime example of carriers going crazy over 3G by hastily overbidding on spectrum outside of their home countries. His point being that sometimes its pays to be pragmatic and stick to what you know. Maybe the boys at 3 (previously Hutchison 3G) are learning that lesson with their latest service hurdle.
