Is It Just About The Money?
For some time we’ve been trying to figure out just what AT&T Wireless’s relationship with NTT DoCoMo is really about. DoCoMo pumped in $9 billion to AT&T but what did they get for it? AWS launched m-mode which bears little resemblance to DoCoMo’s i-mode except for that both have “mode” in the names. Now DoCoMo and AWS have agreed to set up a FOMA demo room in New York for analysts, journalists, opertors and vendors. No wonder DoCoMo is trying to figure out how to reduce its AWS owenership.
