Tech Ad Campaigns: From Stupid And Hip To Traditional… But Hip

from the huh? dept

There are plenty of companies that fed off of the tech boom who are now struggling to figure out how to fit in these days. Here’s an article looking at how advertising agencies have had to change over the past couple of years. While many grew by taking on business from tech companies – and creating “hip” but weird ad campaigns, they’re now trying to be more traditional in the campaigns they create. At least, that’s what the article says at the beginning. Then suddenly it talks about how traditional ad firm Leo Burnett has created a whole separate division called LB Works to be more hip. As far as I can tell, they’re simply saying that ad companies are still trying to be hip, but they’re doing so with less money.
