Wi-Fi Lite

Bluetooth has gotten a bad rap and to some extent with good reason. A certain group of Wi-Fi lovers think that Bluetooth is completely irrelevant in a Wi-Fi world. This is one of our pet peeves and we’ve written before that the two are complimentary. Well now Glenn Fleishman chimes in with a detailed technical overview of why Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are different and that for Wi-Fi to compete with Bluetooth you would need to create a whole new spec for something like Wi-Fi Lite. If you have to introduce a new standard, that should be proof enough that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are different and not competitive.
