Akamai Charges Speedera With Hacking And Industrial Espionage

from the fight-dirty dept

Akamai and Speedera compete with each other in the market for efficient content delivery services online. They’ve been involved in a few patent disputes over the past year, but today the heat got turned up a bit. Akamai is accusing Speedera’s CTO of hacking into the Keynote database that held data from tests about Akamai’s customers and Akamai’s performance for those customers. They go so far as to pinpoint a DSL line in Mountain View that the CTO used to access the database. How they figured out it was him is not explained. Speedera denies everything.
