Why Telecom Sucks Right Now

The Economist has a report looking at exactly why the telecom market is in so much trouble these days. There’s nothing particularly new or surprising in the article, but it is a good summary of all of the problems they’re having. The most basic summary is that in the telecom business you need to predict the future, so you can invest in the proper infrastructure. Over the past few years, telecom companies have been notoriously bad at predicting the future (or, perhaps, notoriously good at predicting the wrong future).
