Loaning Out Electric Vehicles

from the the-first-one's-free... dept

A California state agency is loaning out battery powered electric vehicles to various organizations to try to get people used to using them. So, now city employees in Portola Valley as well as workers at a marine research center at San Francisco State have free ev cars in their pool. So far, the program seems to be working. People who drive the cars seem impressed (though, the article doesn’t say if it has caused anyone to buy themselves an ev). Overall, about 300 different organizations have asked for a loaner and there are about 40 of the cars out on loan.
