State Court To Hear Intel Email Case

from the spam-or-free-speech? dept

The California State Supreme Court has agreed to hear the infamous Intel spam case. I think this is an interesting case because it brings up an awful lot of issues that don’t necessarily have easy answers. While I usually agree with the EFF and ACLU on which sides they end up in these types of cases – I disagree with them on this one (and agree with the lower courts’ decisions). The guy is obviously spamming 30,000 employees. Yes, he has the right to free speech, and to express his opinion. However, I don’t think that means he has the right to disturb those same 30,000 people while they work. In my mind, Intel has every right to block out his particular emails.
