Baby Bells Might Not Have To Open Networks

from the monopolies-r-us dept

Well, it appears that the Tauzin-Dingell bill passed the House fairly easily. The bill which has been argued about way too much, would mean that the Baby Bells wouldn’t have to open their networks to competitors before they were allowed to offer broadband access nationwide. People for the bill say that it will lead to more widespread broadband adoption. People against it say it will lead to monopolies and higher prices. They both might be right, of course.
