ICANN Proposal Battle
from the fighting-it-out dept
I’ve been reading all day about the proposal to change how ICANN works and put more control into the government side of things. The proposal was quickly trashed by a number of people including (not surprisingly) Karl Auerbach, an ICANN board member. Apparently, the board was only briefed on the plan 24 hours before it was released. Stuart Lynn, who made the proposal, then responded by saying that this is about getting stuff done and not about the internet being a democracy.
