SoloTrek Flies (Briefly, And Not Too High)

from the well,-it's-about-time dept

For years, we’ve been mentioning the SoloTrek “Exo-Skeletor Flying Vehicle” without hearing or seeing any sort of progress on it. Finally, they’re saying that it flew for an entire 19 seconds. Of course, that’s was only a few feet off the ground as the machine was tethered to the ground for safety reasons. Is it just me, or does this seem like an incredibly impractical way of building a flying machine? You would think that they would come up with some method that doesn’t involve the passenger/pilot being directly in the path of the huge propeller fans.
