Technological No Fly Zones

from the interesting-proposals dept

There have been a lot of proposals floating around these days to make airplanes safer, and here’s yet another technology based one. The idea is to create technology-enforced “no fly” zones that a plane would simply not be allowed to enter. If a pilot tried to enter the area, the plane would automatically respond by acting as if there was resistance, and would eventually force the plane to change directions. Of course, there are many who think the plan would never work, or even worse, would be dangerous. An interesting debate.
