Now That It's Official, The Recession May Be Ending

A column saying now that it’s officially been declared a recession, the recession may be over. This isn’t, of course, based on any hard data, but just the fact that the group that made the official designation is notoriously late in their designations. Also, it’s the sort of thing where, when the official report comes out, you know the trend or fad or whatever is over. So, once an official recession is declared, you know it’s probably over. This might be a lot of wishful thinking, but if you want to feel optimistic, go ahead and believe it for a bit.
