Salon has an interesting profile of eBay’s Meg Whitman. While other dot com CEOs got all the fame and attention, she went about steering the ship of the one dot com that has remained consistently profitable throughout the past few years. As the article points out, her management track record at eBay is probably mostly highlighted by not doing the stupid things that many other dot coms did, while focusing on their core users (though, I’m sure many eBay users might disagree).
