Microsoft Offers Bribes To States Who Don't Like It

from the hmmm dept

Microsoft’s new strategy in dealing with the nine states who want to continue the anti-trust suit against it is to resort to bribing them. They’re now telling the states they will pay all their legal expenses so far if they go along with the settlement agreement. Wow. That’s so generous. Basically, what that says is that the states would have been better off doing nothing in the first place. I thought Microsoft had lost the case? How is it that they’re suddenly allowed to tell the states they’re getting off by simply paying their legal fees.
