Microsoft To Buy MobileStar?

from the possibly dept

An analyst is suggesting that Microsoft would be the perfect company to buy MobileStar, the provider of wireless networks in places like Starbucks. MobileStar, of course, has laid everyone off and is shutting down their network. The analyst doesn’t know if Microsoft actually has any interest, but said it seems like a good fit. The other possibility named is Wayport, who has a similar business to MobileStar – but focused on airports. Of course, I’ve heard that anyone looking at MobileStar’s business will realize that the way they’re set up, it’s nearly impossible for them to make money – so it might make a lot more sense to let them die.
