The State Of The Art In Electronic Paper

from the slowly-but-surely dept

Scientific American has an article on the status of various efforts to create electronic paper. It seems that things haven’t progressed that much over the past year or two. I remember reading about (and possibly posting to Techdirt) stories about testing changeable department store signs – and that still seems to be the state of the art. It seems like we’re still a few years away from anything really cool like an electronic book where you can actually flip the pages. I thought it’s also a little odd that both of the companies they talk about started out by creating signs for department stores.
