PeopleSoft To Save $20 Million Using Own Software

from the cheap-shots-at-Oracle dept

Last year Oracle made a big splash by announcing that they saved $1 billion using their own software. Lots of people had problems with that number and tried to show that Oracle was lying. Now, PeopleSoft is taking their own shot at Oracle’s claim by saying how much PeopleSoft is saving using their own software. The number is significantly lower than Oracle’s claim – but PeopleSoft then backs it up by showing exactly how and where they’re saving that money. They also say that this isn’t an example of them “eating their own dog food”, but rather “drinking their own champagne”. I wonder which marketing genius thought that one up.
