What Is Barry Diller Doing?

An interesting look at Barry Diller and his plans for USA Networks. For years people have been confused about what he was really trying to do – and remember him more for the failed mergers and acquisitions of the past seven or eight years. Now, however, things are starting to become a bit clearer – and it suggests he might have had a plan all along. Of course, the article really isn’t all that clear about these newly “clear” plans, but they say it has to do with convergence. As far as I can tell, however, it has to do with trying to turn everything into the home shopping channel – by making anything you see on TV immediately purchasable from the comfort of your own home.
