VCs And Entrepreneurs Don't Understand Each Other

Apparently, there are a lot of dumb entrepreneurs out there. For years, it’s been pounded into peoples’ heads that you can’t raise VC money by directly contacting VCs. Instead you have to get referred. Apparently, an awful lot of entrepreneurs seem to believe this means you need to pay someone to introduce you to VCs. This is ridiculous. I want to know who these entrepreneurs are that the study talked to. Almost every entrepreneur I know knows to stay away from these so-called VC “intermediaries” who charge a huge fee to make a ten minute phone call that’s often ignored. I don’t know anyone who ever actually used one of these guys. You get referrals to VCs the old fashioned way: networking.
