3G In Japan Breaks Down

from the that-was-quick dept

With all the hoopla over the 3G wireless launch in Japan, it certainly did not take very long for the system to break down. Eighteen hours into the test run, emails couldn’t be sent to the phones due to a small server problem. These things definitely happen – and it doesn’t appear that this is really a problem with the 3G network. However, considering all the attention this is getting (and that DoCoMo has been asking for) things like this look bad. If they want people to buy into 3G, it’s important that people really think 3G is useful and valuable as opposed to a complete waste of money.
