Attrition.org Stops Mirroring Defacements

from the too-much-work,-too-little-appreciation dept

Attrition.org, a very popular site for providing information about various website defacements has decided to stop mirroring defacements. The people behind the site, who are all volunteers for this “hobby site”, realized that it was becoming a second job just keeping up on the number of defacements these days. Plus, all sorts of people and companies would get angry at Attrition, and they (not surprisingly) became a target of any number of denial of service and other sorts of attacks. It’s too bad that they’re stopping the mirror since it was a useful aspect of the site, but I completely understand why they did it. I wonder if someone else will step in and start handling defacements in place of Attrition.
