Boeing's Internet In The Air Plans

from the making-money dept

Boeing is the latest company to step into the internet-in-the-air space and I’d say they have an advantage since they make a good percentage of commercial airplanes in the air today. They’re apparently expecting it to be a $45 billion market by the end of the decade in which they’ll get at least 10%. I’m always scared of top down estimates like this (“we’ll get x% of $yy billion”). Who are their actual customers, and are they really willing to pay $10/hour for internet access while they fly?
