AOL Blocking Earthlink Email, Tripod Deleting Pages, Nothing Works

from the glitches-galore dept

It seems like everyone’s having technology trouble these days – but many people like to find conspiracy theories in the problems instead of admitting that it was just an honest mistake. First, AOL was caught blocking email from Earthlink over the past 10 days. The emails got caught in a spam filter and apparently are lost for good. Maybe it’s just a little monopoly muscle flexing from AOL to tell Earthlink not to be so aggressive in trying to steal away AOL customers. Then, there’s the story of how Terra Lycos’s Tripod has been deleting web pages. Tripod claims it was just a mistake and they’ll put the sites back soon. Conspiracy theorists, however, saw a pattern in the deleted sites that many were somehow associated with “fan fiction”.
