A Question Of Ethics

from the IT-people-need-to-deal-with-ethical-questions dept

An interesting article that talks about ethical issues related to IT. With IT becoming more and more important certain ethical questions will arise (mostly surrounding privacy). Most companies don’t have strong ethical guidelines, or if they do, they’re not followed or enforced. In fact, many people make their business ethics decisions based on the culture of the company. The article starts with an interesting story of someone who received information she shouldn’t have and did everything possible to get it back to the person who it belonged to while making sure that no other copies existed. I get the feeling that there aren’t too many other people who would do that.
