Someone in Australia is trying to patent virtual reality sex. They reuters article writes about it as if no one had ever thought of this before. There have been articles and stories suggesting this sort of thing for years, so I don’t see how it’s patentable.

of course it's patentable...
It doesn’t have to be *new* in order to get a patent; it just needs to be a new “process” or something. Tires have been around for decades, but people are still patenting them, right?
