Lessons For E-Tailers In A Recession

from the deals-deals-deals dept

Just as online e-tailers are starting to raise prices to get to profitability, some are suggesting that the way to keep buyers coming is to lower prices. In a not very scientific study, the columnist asked people how their online buying habits would change in a recession. The consistent answer was that it wouldn’t change much, but price would become a more important determining factor. I think it’s amusing that this is coming at the time when all the e-tailers are trying to convince everyone that people don’t shop on price any more.
