Technology Sends Big Businesses Into Pornography

from the I'm-in-the-wrong-business dept

The New York Times is running a great article about just how big the porn industry is. It seems that plenty of big name companies are making significant revenues from porn. The article talks about AT&T, Time Warner, General Motors, and plenty of others. The main contributing factor in making porn such a huge business has been technology. The fact that people can buy and recieve porn in the privacy of their own home (or hotel room) seems to have turned the porn industry into a multi-billion dollar business for large well-known companies. Not surprisingly, many of these companies don’t want to admit where all their revenue is coming from.
