Going From Email To E-mail
from the who-really-cares? dept
Wired News seems to be making quite a big deal of the fact they’ve changed their style guidelines so that email will now be spelled e-mail. My first thought is that this is a stupid thing to worry about. My second thought is that if I had to think about it, it seems a bit backwards. I’d say “email” has definitely become a word these days. Maybe they’re just ahead of the game and “retro spelling” will be the next big thing. Come on, and bring on ye olde time spelling.

e-mail vs email
Talk about tired! Why not just get rid of ” (double quotes) too and just use ‘ (single quotes)? I mean just think of all the bandwidth we could save! By the year 2096 you’ll need terrabytes just to archive all those double quotes! 🙂 From the “Save A Byte Today” Foundation.
Re: e-mail vs email

Re: Re: Re: e-mail vs email
Hey! That was the wrong spelling of life, the correct spelling is lowercase l-i-f-e. If you don’t change your ways spanky I’m going to write a big long boring article about how the too many people are using the slang spelling of life!
Now, where did I put my life……
Re: Re: Re:2 e-mail vs email
It seems that we’re not the only ones with no life. Wired claims they got more reader email on this story than any other story they’ve written.
