New MSN Spams Friends

from the ah,-Microsoft-at-it-again dept

Not much of a surprise here. People are pissed off at a couple of features in the new MSN beta. First off, it apparently forces you to switch over to Hotmail as your main mail account, so say goodbye to POP mail and all the nice things that come with it (like downloading your mail so you can do stuff offline). The second big problem is that it has a default option to spam everyone in your contact list telling them to switch to MSN. Is this stupid? Yes. Will it be in the final version. Probably not after the uproar that will follow all these articles. Who actually uses MSN anyway? I’d bet the majority of MSN users won’t have any idea what they’re doing when it comes to both of these features.
