Smashing Pumpkins Last Album Only Available Online as MP3s

from the hmmm... dept

Apparently, as a final “fuck you” to the music industry, the Smashing Pumpkins have released their last album only online as MP3s. It doesn’t seem to be confirmed that this is actually the case, but it seems to be what everyone is saying. There is some question as to what this means to Virgin Records, who have the Pumpkins under contract. It’s cool that a band is doing this, but it would be cooler if they had record company support for doing such a thing.
