The Story Behind Interval

from the inventing-a-future...-or-wasting-money dept

A great in-depth piece going over what happened with Interval Research Corporation, the research center funded by Paul Allen in 1992 and set up to be a “successful” version of Xerox PARC. For many years people joked about it, and last year it finally went out of business. However, most people associated with it have been very quiet, and there are few stories about what actually happened there (partially due to “gag orders” that were part of severence packages). Here, however, the SJ Merc tries to get some of the inside stories on what really happened at Interval. Definitely worth reading.
