How Do You Spell Dot Com?

According to Random House, which is adding the term to their dictionary, it should be spelled “dot-com”. It’s also acceptable to write it “dot.com” (which makes no sense to me). They don’t like “dotcom” or just “.com”. I’m not sure that anyone really cares which one Random House approves. Personally, I’m a big fan of simply “dot com” or trying not to use the term at all…
