Going Against the Grain

from the taking-a-very-different-viewpoint dept

Two good articles that say things you wouldn’t necessarily expect. The first suggests that perhaps a recession would be good as it would force companies to actually provide customer service. Right now, with the get rich quick, IPO mentality, customer service is going no where. The second article talks about all the dot coms that are trying to force fun activities on their workers and wonders if that really helps at all. I think there’s a fine line. If it really is fun, and people enjoy it, then it helps the work environment. If it’s obviously forced morale building, then it’s likely to fail.
