Raising Money for Schools is Big Business

from the who-whoulda-thunk-it? dept

Apparently, building a business around raising money for schools is big business. Schoolpop, a company that does just that, has now raised almost $50 million from investors (including some very big names). Personally, I don’t see it. Shoppers have to go to Schoolpop’s site first (an extra step that many shoppers will try once and then forget about), and then Schoolpop as a company only makes a miniscule percent on each sale. How this adds up to big business, I don’t see.
