Unified Messaging Going Nowhere

from the yesterday's-next-big-thing dept

Remember when unified messaging was going to be the next big thing? Funny how that hasn’t really happened. Personally (and I’ve said this before) I think people are pretty comfortable with the ways they communicate now, and adding a single inbox only complicates things. I’m sure for some people it’s a good deal, but I don’t know if it’s a really big market. Upside takes a look at the fact that unified messaging has not lived up to its hype at all. One of the interesting things to note in the article is their attempt to verify OneBox’s marketing claims which have been rumored for quite a while to be totally and completely made up. Note that OneBox ignored Upside’s requests to validate their numbers.
