Microsoft increases Bay area salaries

Microsoft has increased Bay area salaries by 15% over what the same job gets paid in Redmond. In the past Microsoft has not accounted for differences in cost of living based upon where the job was based. That seems like one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I lived in Seattle and although it was certainly expensive, it wasn’t anywhere near the cost of living here in the Bay area. No wonder they’ve been having trouble hiring people…
