Virgin Megastores is worried that the rush of media empire mergers threatens their retail music business. They want assurances from the record companies that the retail channel is still a key part of their business. I’m pretty surprised about this whining on their part. I would think that Richard Branson and company could think of a better way to come to terms with the Internet. I have three words for Virgin: Adapt or die.
