Another Privacy Awareness Piece

from the better-than-sleepy-hollow dept

A recent Forbes article describes the author’s dare to a private investigator to unearth his credit secrets. Sure, the Internet can speed the process of abusing someone’s information, but the methods described in the piece are low tech phone scamming.

These “raising awareness” pieces are nice, but it strikes me our esteemed Congress started missing the boat on this set of issues long ago with encryption and the probability of “fixing privacy” through legislation is very low indeed.
