CheckOut.com and Wherehouse in $40 Million Deal

This one caused me to yawn a bit: apparently, tomorrow Checkout.com will announce that they will run all of Wherehouse’s e-commerce efforts. CheckOut.com is still a mystery to me. I understand that it’s got Michael Ovitz, but beyond that, what’s the big deal? It’s just another online e-commerce site that doesn’t have much to distinguish itself from any other site.
