Amazon Profitable Sorta

Okay, so last week Goldman says that Amazon.com could be profitable “if they wanted to be”, and this week, they announce that at least their book business will be profitable this quarter. I guess that’s a good sign, but I still think the thing that people were mostly worried about was that Amazon was expanding too quickly into too many different areas, and profitability in just one of those areas doesn’t necessarily answer that concern.
