CDNow Suing Lycos

I’ve always been against the “exclusive” deals that all these portals were signing a year or so ago. First the concept of “exclusivity” on the web is a little silly, and it would definitely lead to problems with the portal. Now CDNow is suing Lycos for breach of contract because it ran ads and linked to competitors, despite agreeing not to. Lycos in turn is threatening to sue back for the money they say is owed to them from CDNow. This is such a friendly industry we work in.
