You're assuming they wanted all wanted it there, Ron. Better to demand that those individuals who wanted it so badly cough up the dough themselves. Apparently, there's quite a few of them.
Why should we pay them to do it? It's not like they're actually, you know, working, or anything.
Woman here; it's very creepy to be near someone who is watching porn where everyone else can see it. Do that at home. RE: social media, cat videos, etc., you're wasting your employers' (that's us if you work for the government!) time and money. Do you remember the story of the American sys admin who got a Chinese bloke to do his job so he could play around on Reddit and YouTube all day? It's fine to play around on social media, etc., during breaks, I'm doing that now with a timer running in the background, but to fool around when you ought to be working is taking liberties. Not okay. To watch porn right in front of others is downright objectionable, and to women like me, it's intimidating. I mean flippin' 'eck, guys, where's the line?
Erm... over here in the UK, there's work for them to do, they're just not doing it. Really annoying if you're depending on them to sign stuff off or process paperwork.
Then why in the name of all that's holy are we paying them for 8hrs worth of work, damn it? Either do the job you're paid to do or let a competent person earn the money. I've spent years being too poor to go out with friends because I was stuck in low-paid jobs. I'm in a sweet situation now, but honestly, stories like this make my blood boil. Watch porn at home. Imagine being a woman sitting near the creep. How does she feel about it? I'd be very uncomfortable.
Ewww! I suppose they could laminate them to protect the public.
Well he'd better sort himself out -- or he's toast. I'll see myself out.
RE: those flakes that doesn't trust government generally
The idea behind that is to make such people so mistrustful of government on principle that it doesn't occur to them that
a) they effectively ARE the government, and
b) they can effect change if they engage more and get others to join them.
As you may have noticed, this is working like a Fascist dream; disengaged people shout about rebellion and revolution but it just doesn't click with them that they could, like, totally call their representatives or campaign for change like the sensible people do.
Canuck, they made private fools of themselves, that's why we don't know who they are.
Yep. Zero hours contracts are a classic example. They OWN you between shifts or work assignments so you can't do other jobs during down time in case you get called in to work. Unpaid lunch breaks are the same; you can't work for others during that hour so effectively you're being robbed.
You can't make off-colour jokes any more, either. One chap nearly went to jail for mouthing off about an airport.
Funnily enough, this is not a left V right thing as actual Socialists will argue for property rights on intellectual output as a guaranteed reward for labour of hand or brain. For a group that claims to be all about the Commons, this is about as individualistic as they get. It's fascinating to see where the overlaps fall.
My friend Mumba named her son Taye. On the basis of Swift's reasoning her trademark is invalid.
Is it possible to build a communitarian liberal democratic algorithm into a chatbot that would filter out racism, etc.?
In New Zealand, it will be.
Therefore, you'd better STOP the hiding of comments: that's tortious interference with The Public's First Amendment Rights. See you in court, Blue.
