  The GOP promotes their sexual abusers in their midst. Democrats get rid of them. The entire House GOP management (Johnson, Scalise, Stefanik and a fourth guy I'm too lazy to look up.) voted to not expel compulsive liar George Santos because it would make their razor thin power grip on the House even smaller. When SCOTUS ruled in GWB favor over Gore we did not riot in the capitol and chanted about hanging the vice president. When Trump legitimately lost by a wide margin the GOP staged a riot in the capitol, murdered people and took shits on people's Congressional desks. Yeah, it's us Democrats that have no principles except wanting to hang onto power by any means and not the GOP the keeps passing laws to allow them to hang onto power at any lengths and attempting an actual coup.   Social issues influence that equation with abortion being one of the most impactful for Democratic voting currently. Democrats have been outperforming in special elections all year long and not by a few points either, by about ten points. Overturning Roe was a dumb move by the GOP. Wedge issues always exist, that's why the GOP is harping on incessantly about drag queens and trans kids. I think a lot of people, especially younger people, analyzing GOP vs Democrats start to see a pattern where the GOP makes up stuff left and right that insults your intelligence like "Mar-a-lago is worth 50-100 times what it's listed for" while Democrats mostly are operating in good faith trying to be honest negotiators.

  Personally, as a gay asexual disabled guy in a small town in a deep red state, social media has allowed me to connect with similar people. I'm not a kid, I'm in my 50's, but I would imagine anybody young from the LGBTQIA+ community in a situation like mine would find more support than detractors online. There's plenty of haters on the net but there's also plenty of compassionate, supportive people creating caring, helpful communities.

  Unfortunately we will always have moral panics. I remember when I was a kid all the panic over Dungeons and Dragons turning kids into satanists, witches or demon worshipers. It was nonsense then, it's nonsense now and in the future there will be plenty of nonsense because the promoters of it will be able to deploy AI to create their screeds. I'd love to see Meta broken up just like I'd love to see Amazon broken up along with cable and cell phone providers but suing them in the name of the children isn't the way to accomplish it. There's one good thing, which is the Democrats and Republicans actually agree on something: Meta is bad and needs mitigation to prevent harm from its actions.
