I just finished a SciFi novel where a woman fired her maser rifle out a hole in a window, firing Morse coded shots at her gang's headquarters (to summon help). By this time in the novel (2076) Morse code was ancient history. All the spyeyes saw it being done, but it was essentially encrypted by time.
Perfect job, Joe.
I see, another internet grammar nazi.
You *could* have responded by mocking me for missing the (parody) part of the moniker on the comment I responded to (which I just noticed), leaving me feeling suitably embarrassed for responding to it seriously.
With that in mind it's easy to say that a 10% accuracy rate is enough...
How's about I point my six inch Newtonian reflector at it from the hill on the other side of the next farm? You can fit a CCD camera onto the thing that'll resolve stuff the human eye can't.
You don't want to be seen walking around with a weapon in plain sight, don't do it. Simple.
The Fourth Amendment seeks to protect us from such a fishing expedition. It is unfortunate that the Court has elected to disregard these protections.
Honda can claim, but when they've basically already admitted that the commentator was telling an accurate truth ...
I don't want to go back to the state before Western Civilization and the Sexual Revolution (which affected both attire and its meaning).
To any innocent child thei si simply a picture of a woman eating an icecream.
... (though what you wrote today will still be there, to taunt you)
(also I am sure that as opposed as techdirt likes to pretend it is against censorship this comment will be deleted too ...
Apparently I am a misogynist and a horrible person.
All laptops and similar devices must be in checked luggage, not carried onto the plane. Not only will this not solve the problem, it will also pointlessly inconvenience passengers.
I can't remember enjoying any as enlightening, concise, and brilliantly performed spectacle as this. The script, casting, acting performances, and everything was just brilliantly handled.
Better than Shakespeare in one short act. Bravo. Now that's art.
Fallacious argument. As you said yourself, tradition conservatism to the DETRIMENT of fathers and the benefit of mothers is still based on faulty assumptions about women.
I miss the days when these outfits were called "telcos", which is what most are. ISP means "Internet Service Provider". That cellphones finally gained the ability to connect to the net is coincidental, yet everyone started calling AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, and Time Warner ISPs.
They don't provide service, for one thing. They're typical old style telcos in almost every way, a la Lily Tomlin. This story is a good example of that.
We should call these outfits "Crappy Cellphone Connectivity Providers", or CCCP.
The seller needs those and the number on the card you bought with cash. The credit card co. doesn't need your name and address. They just need the card no. to verify it's valid and stores enough money to make it a valid purchase.
Re:
You can't blame Mike for this. You have to blame the wonderful Consumerist for having a diligent, hard working reporter, the wonderful people at Consumer Reports (who bought them), and Tom Wheeler for being in a position to use wonderful ammunition they've offered him on a platter.
