  Also the US has much less onerous bankruptcy rules than Europe. Here, going backrupt was seen as "the end" of a person's useful career, and not to be undetaken except in extremis. In the US, it is much easier to become bankrupt but a lot easier to leave it behind you with minimal stigma as well.

  What two consenting adults do that harms no-one is in no way comparable. I doubt anyone will be legalising incest any time soon, and there is no push in society to make it acceptable.

  Ukraine hasn't been part of "Russia" for a long time now. It may have been part of the USSR but that has been dead 30 years, and invading them under false pretences is not the way to get the territory back. Europe really doesn't want to go back to those days - we don't need another Sudetenland. Then there is the little matter of Russia taking a dump on its international treaties, specifically the one where it guaranteed Ukraine's independent existence and borders. It made the effort to fake democracy when it stole the Crimea, but this is just a naked power grab because he's made sure that the West is too paralysed with in-fighting to be able to provide a serious threat to him. All those roubles spent on wrecking elections, financing Trump and Brexit and encouraging anti-Covid stances are paying off a hundredfold.

  Note: I really don't like the man. But this is still a travesty of "justice" when someone who is not an American citizen and who didn't commit crimes in America is going to be railroaded through a fake and rigged kangaroo court. The US has no moral ground after Mega, nor after murderous US "diplomats" in the UK.
