The most disappointing thing of this whole Twitter Files fiasco, for me, has been Taibbi. He had made some questionable editorial decisions as of late, but this has already gone off the rails entirely.
As I read someone commenting yesterday (yes, on Mastodon), I wouldn't want to be the IT team at the NYTimes/Wapo/whatever trying to put a Mastodon instance together during the weekend.
So, it's come to a point where I run uBlock origin and I have it set up to block all 3rd-party scripts (and I probably should block all 1st-party scripts and allow them on a per-site base) not because of the ads anymore, but because I cannot trust the web as it stands today.
Techdirt has not posted any stories submitted by rinzewind.
